Our aim is to understand how is regulated the oogenesis in insects.
As a model we used the cockroach Blattella germanica, an hemimetabolan insect with panoistic ovaries, whose vitellogenesis and oocyte growth are regulated by juvenile hormone.
At present our research focuses on three main subjects:
Insect vitellogenesis
Regulation of oogenesis in panoistic ovaries
Evolution of ovarian structure and function
At present we are collaborating with the groups of:
, sharing interests in insects miRNA and in water stress responses.
, sharing interests in insect oogenesis.
