On the occasion of Human+ exhibition, the CCCB brings together four experts in many different disciplines such as robotics, sustainability, synthetic biology or science-fiction in order to remember how literature and science fiction have imagined the future of our species, and discover what is drawing new futures science today.

The Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) provides, once again, a mini lecture before Christmas. On the occasion of Human+ exhibition, which questions the limits of life and makes us think about the current meaning of the word "human", the CCCB brings together four experts in many different disciplines such as robotics, sustainability, synthetic biology or science-fiction in order to remember how literature and science fiction have imagined the future of our species, and discover what is drawing new futures science today.

Ricard Solé, group leader of the Complex Systems Lab, will introduce the session with a talk about the future of our planet and how can science help to improve the environment or the treatment of illnesses. Miquel Barceló, writer specialized in science-fiction; Elio Quiroga, writer and cinema director, and Ramon López de Mántaras, director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of the Spanish National Research Council ( CSIC ), complete the program. The session will start at 18: 00 and end at 21:00 h, leaving time for public debate before concluding.
