This is the first study reporting next-generation sequencing data in Indian populations. We explore the genetic consequences of the particular Indian demographic history with founder effects, interpopulation segregation, a unique complex social structure with a caste system and elevated frequency of consanguineous marriages.

This study has been led by IBE researchers from the J. Bertranpetit's Lab.
