Two papers with the participation of the IBE are ranked among the most popular of 2017

Only six papers with Spanish participation are included in this list, which is based on the metrics and qualitative data that are complementary to traditional, citation-based metrics.

Reconstructing Neanderthal behaviour, diet, and disease using ancient DNA from dental calculus, with the participation of Carles Lalueza-Fox and published in Nature on March, and Morphometric, behavioral, and genomic evidence for a new orangutan species, with the participation of Tomàs Marquès-Bonet, Jaume Bertranpetit and Marc de Manuel and published in Current Biology on November, are ranked among the 100 most popular of 2017 according to Altmetric.

The ranking is based on citations on Wikipedia and in public policy documents, discussions on research blogs, mainstream media coverage, bookmarks on reference and mentions on social networks such as Twitter.
