Xavier Bellés, awarded by the Iberian Association of Comparative Endocrinology
This recognition is given by the Association of Comparative Endocrinology (AIEC) to eminent endocrinologists from the Iberian Peninsula.
The AIEC established four years ago a lecture /prize, called the “Planas lecture”, for eminent endocrinologist preferably from the Iberian Peninsula. This year they have elected Xavier Bellés, owing to his significant contribution to Comparative Endocrinology.
The award is to be presented in the XI Congress of Iberian Association for Comparative Endocrinology. The AIEC meeting occurs once every 2 years and this year will take place in Vigo.
The AIEC was founded in 1998. This association is integrated by Spanish and Portuguese scientists who study different aspects of the vertebrate and invertebrate endocrinology.
