The IBE Artificial Intelligence Comitee” has been formally created in May 2026 to promote the sustainable use and creation of IA tools for IBE community.

Objectives

  • Identify and promote AI applications relevant to research in evolutionary biology, genomics, biodiversity, and other research fields of interest to the IBE community.
  • Advise on computational infrastructure and technological needs related to AI.
  • Promote best practices in reproducibility, benchmarking, documentation, and the responsible use of AI.
  • Organize training and capacity-building activities in AI for researchers, students, and technical staff.
  • Develop recommendations on the ethical and responsible use of AI in research, student mentorship, and scientific communication.
  • Represent and position the IBE in external initiatives and networks related to AI and biodiversity.
  • Identify funding opportunities and support the preparation of competitive proposals in AI applied to life sciences.
  • Explore and promote AI applications that improve internal research processes, data analysis, and scientific and administrative management.
