The IBE Well-Being Committee has been established to promote a healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable research environment. In a scientific context often shaped by high pressure, career uncertainty, heavy workloads, and community fragmentation, the Committee serves as a transversal, close, and accessible space to support the holistic well-being of the institute’s community, strengthen internal cohesion, and foster an institutional culture based on care, respect, and mutual support.

Guided by the principles of confidentiality, respect, transparency, and a proactive approach, the Committee complements the existing resources and channels of the CSIC, UPF, and the Institute, and works in coordination with the other institute’s committees. Its lines of action include providing spaces for listening and early detection of distress, supporting mediation and constructive conflict management, improving the onboarding of new members, and promoting workshops, healthy activities, and networking and community-building initiatives that help strengthen connections and a sense of belonging across the IBE community. In addition, we are leaving a form open to gather ideas and suggestions and to better understand the needs of the IBE community, so that the Committee’s actions can respond as closely as possible to the institute’s reality.
