In this study we test the influence of different human pressures (at different scales) on both strictly aquatic and riparian communities. We show a general congruence in the response of both communities but with some results interesting such as that pressures operating at basin scale had a greater effect than those at local scale, indicating the importance of wide-scale conservation strategies to preserve freshwater biodiversity.

This study has been led wby researchers of Universidad de Murcia.
