Winners of the Genome Research poster competition at 2011 "The Biology of Genomes" meeting are announced.

Belen Lorente-Galdos, a predoctoral  fellow at Institut de Biologia Evolutiva won the second Grand Prize winner with the poster entitled: " Fast exon evolution in duplicated regions in primates". The prize consisted of $250 and a one-year personal subscription to Genome Research for her outstanding poster presentation.

Fist Prize was won by Victor Mason, A graduate student at Texas A&M University, who was awarded $500 and a one-year personal subscription to Genome Research for his presentation of the poster entitled: " Efficient cross-species capture hybridization and next-generation sequencing of mitochondrial genomes from non-invasively sampled colugo museum specimens."

Awards were presented May 14, 2011 at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory during the meeting, "The Biology of Genomes."
